You'll play a vital role in shaping the lives of young people, helping them develop new skills, build confidence, and prepare for bright futures.

You must be over 18 years of age to apply for this role and there is no upper age limit. All volunteer cadet leaders must complete our force vetting process, which typically includes background checks and references.
Specific qualifications are not essential. However, previous experience working with young people is advantageous. We are looking for volunteers to commit at least 12 hours per month (2 hours per week), ideally for a minimum of 12 months. Events and development sessions may also be held during school holidays and weekends.
Being a volunteer cadet leader can provide valuable insight into police work and may be considered an asset when applying for future positions within the police force. It also looks great on your CV! You will have ongoing support from experienced leaders, police officers, and other volunteers within the programme. We offer full training and access to ongoing learning.
