Our wonderful Wolverhampton Police Cadets got a taste of life on the beat as they joined a patrol in the city centre.

The youngsters who are part of the Wolverhampton cohort of West Midlands Police Cadets, were with experienced officers and PCSOs, as they walked through the city's shopping areas and bus station.
They were able to see officers engage with members of the public and maintain a visible presence in the busy spaces.
They also observed how officers managed the situation after a minor altercation, as they spoke with witnesses and checked on everyone's welfare.

Throughout the visit, officers provided guidance and answered questions from the Cadets, helping them better understand the wide range of situations police face daily.
Among the officers out with the Cadets was PC Rhiannon Tatchell, who's been with our City Centre team since September after coming across after five years with Birmingham Police. As well as being a fulltime police officer, she is also training to become a Cadet Leader.
Joining them too was Wolverhampton Cadets Commander Muhammad Ali who's also an officer in our operation support unit.
But you don't need to already be part of WMP to volunteer as a Cadet leader, we have Cadets leaders from all walks of life, from Army veterans to university students.
