  • Priority:

    Anti-social behaviour

    Issued 28 July 2026

    Action taken:

We want our neighbourhoods to be a safe place for everyone to live, work, visit and travel to. We know that sometimes this peace can be disturbed. Anti-social behaviour can include any behaviour or incident which causes alarm or distress. This can include issues such as repeated annoyance or nuisance behaviours, or deliberate intimidation. We will use a variety of tactics to prevent and deter these behaviours, and take enforcement action where appropriate.

Calls to service regarding anti-social behaviour has continued to be low.
The team have attended regular meetings with businesses, as well as BID to continue partnership working in lowering ASB in Solihull and making it an enjoyable place to visit.

We understand young children are looking for things to do during the holidays and Mell Square have their summer at Mell Square free activities currently running throughout August

  • Priority:

    Business Crime

    Issued 28 July 2026

    Action taken:

Solihull has a large business retail community, and much of that is within the town centre. We recognise the impact which retail crime has on businesses and their employees, and also indirectly to the wider public. We will continue to use a variety of tactics to detect, disrupt and apprehend offenders. Most of this crime is theft, but also relevant is fraud, assault and public order offences.

Community protections warnings have been served to shop lifters who have been detained on the scene, banning them from Solihull Town Centre. The continued work by St Alphege officers with the assistance of Solihull BID security catching shop lifters while the crime is being committed is continuing to have a positive impact on business in the area, as we are noticing a drop in thefts.
Businesses are being reassured by the continued hi visibility in the town centre.

  • Priority:

    Vehicle Theft

    Issued 28 July 2026

    Action taken:

The team have been conducting hi-visibility hotspot patrols as well as working with Touchwood security to deter bike thefts.
We will continue this work over the Summer months ensuring Solihull is a safe place to visit and enjoy.

The Blythe area has unfortunately seen a rise in incidents of vehicle theft. The team will be prioritising intelligence-led patrols in the area with a view to to reduce further crimes and to identify potential suspects.
