Anti-social behaviour

We want our neighbourhoods to be a safe place for everyone to live, work, visit and travel to. We know that sometimes this peace can be disturbed. Anti-social behaviour can include any behaviour or incident which causes alarm or distress. This can include issues such as repeated annoyance or nuisance behaviours, or deliberate intimidation. We will use a variety of tactics to prevent and deter these behaviours, and take enforcement action where appropriate.

The team are attending regular meetings with businesses as well as BID security in regards to ASB. Working with our partners we are able to tackle the ASB in Solihull thus making it an enjoyable place to visit.

The team have been more of a presence around the schools, colleges and the town centre around finishing time, ensuring everyone gets home safely and there are no incidents in the area.

With Halloween coming up the team will be focusing our patrols on any protentional ASB in Blythe and the St Alphege area to ensure everyone can enjoy their evening.

Business Crime

Solihull has a large business retail community, and much of that is within the town centre. We recognise the impact which retail crime has on businesses and their employees, and also indirectly to the wider public. We will continue to use a variety of tactics to detect, disrupt and apprehend offenders. Most of this crime is theft, but also relevant is fraud, assault and public order offences.

St Alphege officers along with Solihull BID security have had a positive impact on businesses in the area, conducting hi visibility patrols and reassurance visits to businesses during working hours. Lowering this type of offending

This month the team have been conducting plain clothes and Hi Visibility operations at repeated targeted shops in the St Alphege area, this is to support our local businesses. The team has successfully arrested prolific shoplifters thanks to the efforts of our targeted patrols, which has now saw a massive decrease in shop thefts in that area.
Locals in the area have said they feel more comfortable using these shops again.

Vehicle Theft

The team have continued to conduct hi-visibility hotspot patrols in Solihull town centre, as well as working with Touchwood security to deter bike thefts.

Vehicle crime in St Alphege and Blythe area has recorded a reduction in this criminal activity in he past month, the team will continue to treat this as a priority and patrol targeted areas.
