I have been a serving officer with West Midlands Police for 10 years, having worked in frontline policing throughout this time. I previously worked in a high pace environment on Response in Birmingham before coming to Dudley on promotion as a Sergeant in 2021.
Having worked on Neighbourhood Policing in Dudley for a number of years now, I have a good understanding of what matters to our communities. This varies of course, but there is an overwhelming consensus of a need for action when it comes to solving local problems and policing having an impact.
I am a firm believer in being visible, informed and efficient in resolving problems. I champion a zero tolerance approach to criminality and anti social behaviour and you can expect to see my Neighbourhood Teams being pro-active in tackling crime and ASB, yet reassuring to the communities we serve.
I have 29 years' service within West Midlands Police. Most of those years have been within Dudley. I have served on a Traffic Department, I have been a Custody Sergeant, led a proactive team and, for the past two years, I have been a Duty Inspector covering Response Officers in Dudley.
I have lived in the area all of my life - although I don't live here now, I am not far away.
At the moment, I lead a dedicated but small team of officers and we are passionate about doing the very best for the communities we serve.

SEDGLEY:
We are continuing to receive reports of Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) around the Sedgley area, which involves small groups of youths causing a general nuisance to members of the public. We have also had a number of reports of off-road bikes causing issues for pedestrians and road users.There have been a small number of reports of shoplifting around the town centre.
Sporadic reports are being received regarding drug dealing in the local area.
Action taken:
We have been tackling Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) in and around the High Street. We also have the support of other teams, providing support for patrols when we are on rest days. Dudley North Neighbourhood Team have been carrying out a number of plain clothes patrols around the area, in order to identify any offenders. We will continue to take a proactive stance towards the ASB issues.
We will endeavour to include all hotspots in our patrol strategies to deter any ongoing issues.

UPPER GORNAL & WOODSETTON:
There have been reports of youths causing Anti-Social Behaviour, and possible drug dealing in various parts of the Upper Gornal and Woodsetton ward.ASB is also being reported to us on the precinct area in Upper Gornal, and at McDonalds.
Off-road bikes have also been brought to our attention again within the local area.
There has also been an increase in reports of shoplifting in the local shops.
Action taken:
Targeted patrols will continue in our hotspot areas in order to deter youths hanging around and causing ASB issues. We have been actively engaging with any youths seen out and about, and educating them to the issues that they are causing. Patrols will be continuing around the precinct area in order to alleviate any issues and to help us identify any individuals who may be causing a problem.
Increased patrols will be taking place around the local shops to prevent further shoplifting offences, as well as plain clothes operations. A number of shop lifting offenders have recently been arrested due to the Dudley North Neighbourhood Team taking a proactive stance against this issue.
All hotspots for any emerging issues will be included in our patrol strategies accordingly.

COSELEY:
We are still receiving numerous reports about off-road bikes, which are causing Anti-Social Behaviour, and being a general nuisance for pedestrians and road users. They are causing issues around the open green spaces/park areas in the Coseley area.We are receiving sporadic reports of youths causing ASB in local food establishments.
There have also been reports of drug use/dealing around Roseville, and Jubilee Park.
Action taken:
An increase in reports of Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) has lead to increased patrols around the Coseley area in order to monitor locations and move on anyone suspected to be causing ASB. Our presence will hopefully help to deter future problems. Officers are engaging with any youths that are seen out and about, and educating them about the issues that they are causing.
We will hopefully be involved in some joint working along side the DMBC ASB team to identify any offenders, and identify locations where off-road bikes are being stored or coming from.
As always, the Neighbourhood Team will include any emerging hotspot areas in their patrol strategies to hopefully prevent ongoing issues.

LOWER GORNAL:
We are still receiving numerous reports of Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) in the Lower Gornal area, and this includes off-road bikes causing issues on the local park.There have also been an increased number of reports of shoplifting.
We are still receiving reports regarding school parking, which is causing obstructions for other road users, and also speeding vehicles around various school sites.
Action taken:
We are still focusing on increasing patrols to help reduce the ASB issues in the area. We have also been working with the public and partner agencies to identify a number of the youths. We are actively engaging with any youths that we see out and about, and educating them about the problems that they are causing for the general public.
Patrols are taking place around the local shops in order to prevent further shoplifting offences. A number of shop lifting offenders have been arrested recently as a result of the Dudley North Neighbourhood Team being proactive in the area.
We are working with the parking enforcement team to enable a joint approach to the ongoing school parking issues, especially now the schools are returning from the Summer Holidays.
The Dudley North Neighbourhood Team will work to include any emerging hotspots in our patrol strategies to prevent ongoing issues.
