I have been serving with West Midlands Police since 2009. I started my Career in Solihull where I worked a number of roles including Neighbourhood Policing and Response. In 2015 I moved to Birmingham city centre as a Sergeant where I served for 3 years before moving to Winson Green. In 2022 I moved to Edgbaston as the 2i/c to the Inspector before taking the Inspector role in 2024 which I am very pfroud to continue to serve.

Edgbaston boasts renowned landmarks such as Edgbaston Cricket Ground, the University of Birmingham, Birmingham Botanical Gardens, and the prestigious Edgbaston Archery and Lawn Tennis Society, recognized as the oldest lawn tennis club in the world.

This is an ongoing issue for Bournville where local businesses reporting business crime (shop thefts) in Cotteridge alongside people (potentially homeless) loitering outside the shops leaving rubbish..

    Issued 08 May 2026

    Action taken:

The local team are proactive in patrolling in the shopping area as often as they can be. We are still working with our partners in Birmingham City Councils community safety team in the area. They have been issuing community protection notices to those people found to be repeat offenders in the area - which has had a positive impact on the numbers of people loitering. we will continue with this positive work as well as making referrals to Street Link.

We will continue to investigate any theft from shops, by working with retail management to identify offenders and arresting those responsible for the crime.

If you have any information on who is committing the thefts - or where the goods are being taken too, then please get in touch with one of the team or anonymously to crimestoppers. We would like to prevent the offending and will need the communities help and support.

We are still conducting walks in the area with the local councillor and are speaking to the support providers for the properties that have been raised. If you have a specific property in mind please let us know and we will look to include that.
