We’ve seized a machete after Operation Fearless officers chased and arrested a man seen acting suspiciously on the Soho Road.
Our officers tried to speak to a group of people on the street before the suspect fled.
He was chased on foot and arrested on nearby Victoria Road, just before 11pm yesterday.
A machete was recovered nearby and the 32-year-old man remains in custody on suspicion of possession of a bladed article.
Yesterday, Fearless officers also arrested a woman who was wanted for recall to prison, and a man on suspicion of possession with intent to supply drugs after a search recovered a bag of mamba, and a number of wraps of heroin.
They’ve been working closely with partners including the Business Improvement District, and Trading Standards, to listen to the community’s concerns, crack down on crime and improve the area for everyone who lives, works and visits there.
