Robbery and Public Place Violence offences.
Issued 26 October 2026
The team continue to conduct high visibility mobile and foot patrols around key locations in order to deter and identify persons involved. We have also introduced a public space protection order (PSPO) in conjunction with Solihull Council within the bus interchange and surrounding area providing officers additional powers to tackle ASB and public place violence. This order is still in force and helping the team to disperse youths following obtaining their details.
Op Advance saw a number of force resources on the interchange to provide reinforcement of the PSPO in place. The cadets were also in the area to hand out leaflets to those in the shopping centre to advise them of the conditions of the order.
The team are also working closely with the violence reduction partnership and youth workers to help educate and deter those that may become involved in public place violence and related offences.
Plain clothes patrols are being conducted in the area to combat these types of offences and bring offenders to justice as well as being supported by wider resources including drone units, dog and pro-active teams.
The investigation to apprehend the suspect involved in a number of robberies is still ongoing. Overall the number of reported robberies within the neighbourhood has decreased significantly in comparison to the previous 12 months. Work is ongoing to prevent offences and apprehend suspects.
