Vehicle related crime aided by darkening autumn nights

Officers will be conducting high visibility patrols to deter crime taking place within our community, as well as public engagement, to educate and encourage drivers to remove valuables, lock vehicles and report suspicious behaviour. As untaxed and uninsured vehicles play a role in increased vehicle related reports, this will also be a focus for the neighbourhood team as we continue to work alongside our street watch and other partners. We will mainly focusing roads around Small Heath park, and surrounding roads around.

We are working with Birmingham City Council Parking Enforcement. We know that the majority of vehicles are owned locally, so we are using a mixture of education and enforcement, to persuade residents and customers to be more considerate.

Safer Roads

As I am sure you are aware, our roads are not always the safest place to be due to a small number of inconsiderate drivers. As a part of the force priority, the South Yardley NHT will be running operations to target those who make our roads unsafe, with the aim to educate, deter and prosecute those who offend on our roads. We will be conducting operations on Stockfield Road, as well as proactive patrols also on the Stockfield Road.

Illegal substances

The community have raised concerns around mainly Nitrous Oxide and other illegal substances, mainly on Manor Farm Road. As a team we are committed to trying to prevent and reduce the misuse of drugs in our area.

We will be doing this by increasing patrols on Manor Farm Road to deter anyone who may be tempted to use illegal highs. Any illegal drug use will not be tolerated, and we will act appropriately.
