Sheldon NPT has been made aware of parking issues linked to nearby Sheldon Country Park and Birmingham International Airport. Intel also suggests various social media posts are attracting people to the location, advertising views of the airport etc. The issue of inconsiderate parking is more prevalent at the weekend.

-Looking to work with partners at Birmingham City Council Civil Enforcement.
-Promote the use of 'Operation Snap' for some moving traffic offences and parking offences.
-Utilising Streetwatch patrols to engage with / educate road users at fault.

Reflecting the national trend, Sheldon Retail Park has experienced a significant amount of retail crime in the first half of 2026, the majority committed by by a small number of repeat offenders. In addition to this, retailers and members of the public have complained about a small number of rough sleepers / aggressive beggars who are intimidating staff and shoppers.

-Regular patrols of Sheldon Retail Park, with officers assigned specific retailers to develop strong working relationships and continuity moving forward.
-Of the 4 vulnerable persons loitering in car park area, 1 has been housed, 2 are receiving help with housing and substance misuse and 1 has not been seen for some time.
-Improved investigation process via dedicated Retail Crime Team for Birmingham East.

Sheldon NPT have received reports off Anti-Social Behaviour involving off road motorbikes in and around the Comberton Road, Chestnuts Avenue and Manston Road. This behaviour is linked to a small number of local shops and addresses.

-Canvassing of addresses for evidence in relation to anti-social behaviour, for civil and criminal investigations.
