I joined West Midlands Police in 1999, initially serving as a response officer in Kingstanding, before gaining extensive experience in neighbourhood and custody positions. More recently, I was given a leading role at both a force and national level to reshape the West Midlands Police IT infrastructure. I have also had responsibilities for Early Help, Missing Persons, School Intervention and Prevention, Adult Vulnerability, and Serious and Organised Crime and Exploitation in the Birmingham area. In February 2024, I began serving the Northfield constituency, which encompasses the Kings Norton, Longbridge, Northfield, and Weoley wards. I feel extremely proud and fortunate to lead a team of dedicated officers who share my commitment to ensuring the safety and security of our community. Every day, I look forward to coming to work, striving to make a meaningful and positive impact for local residents.

Retail Crime & Anti-Social Behaviour on Northfield High Street. Ongoing concerns in this area and will remain a priority during Autumn 26.
Action taken:
Local Officers work closely with the Northfield Business Improvement District (BID) to address instances of shop theft and associated anti social behaviour along Northfield high street by providing high visibility patrols of the area and working with retailers to identify prolific offenders, effecting their arrest and utilising powers to ban them from the area.
Update: The team are increasing patrols in the key areas on the High Street and around the High Street where drug offences and concerns have been reported. Sgt Livesey is leading on Operation Wayfarer which is addressing these concerns. A number of arrests have been made and a PSPO being considered by partners for long term intervention. -
Priority:
There has been a recent spike in theft From motor vehicles in West Heath which led to a key arrest and is being closely monitored due to the risk of further offences.
Action taken:
The local dedicated neighbourhood officers will be paying attention and conducting patrols in key locations in West Heath. A key arrest was made in June and a further arrest of the same person in Sept which has positively impacted crime in the area. The low vehicle crime has continued for the first part of October. There is a lot of crime prevention vehicle crime advice available on the WMP website - consider using steering locks even if only popping into a shop or visiting a friend for a short time. Please do not leave anything on show in your vehicle - leave it on show, expect it to go !

Priority:
Ongoing concerns of shop thefts at specific stores on Northfield Ward. Of note stores in West Heath on the West Heath Rd/Alvechurch Rd.
Action taken:
This area will be subject of a Problem Solving Plan. Officers are engaging with stores and offering crime prevention advice. Thefts are being reported and investigations are being progressed. A number of arrests have taken place and offenders brought to justice. The work around shop thefts is continuing and applications for Criminal Behaviour Orders are being considered as part of the investigation and long term prevention work.
