The use of off road bikes/scooters/vehicles driving/riding around the area. This is causing a nuisance to the public, damaging park lands and can be dangerous. This is a recurring problem. We will continue to monitor this issue
Issued 08 July 2026
This issue is wider than simply this area. We are seeing ongoing issues with people using off road bikes (and road legal ones) and riding them in an anti social or illegal manner. We are also seeing crimes occur utilising motorbikes as vehicles to escape the area in.
We have been discussing these issues with other departments and work is taking place to target key nominals who are known. This work is ongoing - and when we can inform on the results we will do.
In the last month, the reports have remained low - but with the impending warmer weather and the longer days we expect this issue to appear again.
High visibility patrols are continuing within the locations with our partner teams.

Vehicles parking inconsiderately around school pick up/drop off times and speeding in the areas as well.
Issued 08 July 2026
Reports of this have again remained low, and as we move into the Summer Term. We are still monitoring the matter, and patrols will remain at the key times until the students break for the schools end of term. Again, we ask that if you see offences to please let us know. If you have dashcam footage please look up Operation Snap on the internet and submit the footage.
We have sent a letter to all secondary schools in the area to pass to parents about illegal/inconsiderate parking. If you wish to receive this for your childs school please get in touch.
I would encourage the local community to report further issues around this matter on the website - direct to the local team or to Crimestoppers anonymously.

Force Priority - Operation Guardian
Following a review of crime figures in the area and intelligence received from the local community, Youth based violence and knife crime has been raised as a concern. We will continue to work to reduce these issues within the community and offer safeguarding and support to those who have been a victim.
Issued 22 July 2026
The Billesley team will continue to complete targeted patrols to tackle the issue. This will be a mixture of full uniform and plain clothed patrols. The team will patrol the main streets, shopping areas and parks to ensure the community is safe. We have arrested a youth today for causing a number of issues in the local community.
If you have any information you feel may be useful to us please speak to a member of our team or use Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or on their website.
