We’ve made more than 25 arrests since the launch of Operation Scarletfox – our response to tackle violence in Tipton.
Operation Scarletfox aims to increase information reported into the police, increase arrests and disrupt criminal networks.
We are working in the community to address local concerns and the impact of violent crime by tackling those involved in organised or gang related activity in Tipton.

Since the start of February, we have made 26 arrests for offences including possession of drugs with intent to supply, possession of a bladed article, possession of a firearm, and going equipped.
We have also charged a number of people in connection with driving offences.
We have seized 12 vehicles, carried out more than 90 stop and searches and recovered a firearm.
We will continue to target offenders, carry out warrants and seize weapons as part of our ongoing crackdown against Tipton’s serious and organised crime.
Chief Inspector Michelle Allen, Sandwell Police, said: “We are determined to make the streets of Tipton safer and the launch of Op Scarletfox is our response to tackle serious crime in the area.
“We are increasing patrols around hotspot areas for crime and bringing in addition resources to target offenders.
“However, we need your support.
“If you have any information about violence and organised crime in your area, we are urging you to tell us.
“We can then act on information and keep your community safe.
“Our message is clear to those who think they can get away with targeting our communities – we will track you down and we will put you behind bars.
“Gang activity, carrying weapons or getting involved in organised crime is not glamorous and can put lives at risk, including your own.”
Operation Scarletfox aims to make Tipton safer, and we urge everyone to support us by reporting any information or concerns relating to gang, drug related or violent crime in the area.
