We’ve arrested a man following a serious assault in Coventry yesterday (24 March).
We began an urgent investigation after a man in his 40s was attacked at an address on Irving Road in Hillfields just after 3pm. He was taken to hospital with potentially serious injuries.
Following immediate enquiries and a public appeal for information, a man aged 25 was arrested in Coventry this morning.
He has been taken to police custody where he will be questioned on suspicion of aggravated burglary and attempted theft of a motor vehicle.
Det Insp Sherrie Kimberley, from Coventry Police, said: “Thank you to everyone who shared our appeal, and to the community who passed useful information to us.
“As we work tirelessly to keep Coventry safe, we rely on the public to help be our extra eyes and ears, and this can lead to really positive results.
“Our investigation is continuing and anyone with information that has not yet spoken to us should please get in touch.”
