Three men are in custody after Dudley officers responded quickly to reports of a break-in.
We were called to Grange Road shortly before 8am today (2 June) to reports three people had forced their way into a property and assaulted someone inside.
When officers arrived, they spotted a group leaving the address and chased after them, detaining three men.
In the process of detaining them, one of our officers was assaulted, thankfully not suffering serious injuries.
Stolen items were also recovered.
Two men aged 42 and 43 were arrested on suspicion of burglary, while a third aged 40 was arrested on suspicion of burglary, assault, and assaulting an emergency worker.
We never tolerate any form of assault against our officers who work tirelessly to protect the public.
Our enquiries into this incident are continuing and anyone with information should call 101 or speak to us via Live Chat quoting log 678 of 2 June.
