A man is to appear in court following a series of shop thefts across the Black Country.
Artis Denisovs, of no fixed address, has been charged with seven counts of theft from a shop after being arrested on Saturday (6 June).
It follows reports of stores in Dudley and Tipton being targeted in April and May and items stolen, with a man fleeing the shops on each incident without making payment.
The 38-year-old was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Walsall Magistrates’ Court today (8 June).
We continue to take reports of shop theft extremely seriously and understand the impact crimes of this nature have on staff and businesses in our community.
It’s important shop thefts like these are reported to us, so we can act and deal with those targeting stores across the borough.
