We are now in the final week of the #Safer6 campaign, and our teams have been busy keeping you safe during the hot weather.
The campaign landed in West Bromwich on 29 June to 5 July which saw a variety of activities such as community engagement, patrols and promoting safe spaces.
Officers visited the Great Barr Food Bank and spoke to volunteers and service users. We’ve also engaged with local business owners to keep their businesses safe.
In partnership with Sandwell Council’s rough sleepers’ team, we engaged with individuals around the Scott Arms Shopping Centre to offer support and advice.
In the town centre, officers along with West Bromwich BID and Sandwell Council spoke to the public to promote our Safe Spaces schemes. The scheme provides a safe place indoors for anyone who may feel vulnerable, distressed or worried. Organisations and businesses taking part in the Safe Spaces scheme can be identified by a Safe Space sticker displayed in the window of their buildings.

Last week, #Safer6 arrived in Tipton which saw officers, along with our mobile police station, in various locations such as Great Bridge Retail Park and Princes End.
Several tickets were also handed out for mobile phone use and MOT offences during a road safety traffic operation. Multiple vehicles were also seized.
This week the campaign has reached its final week in Smethwick. To keep up to date with your local neighbourhood sign up to WM Now.
