Two suspected dealers arrested as Operation Fearless keeps up pressure on Birmingham drug crime

Officers from Operation Fearless are relentlessly targeting drug crime in the Southside area of Birmingham and have arrested two suspected dealers.

The team were on patrol last night (20 January) when they stopped a suspicious vehicle on Sherlock Street.

The driver and passenger were detained, and following a search, officers recovered a large amount of suspected Class A drugs, and around £1,000 in cash.

Two men, aged 31 and 36, were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and remain in police custody this morning.

Through proactive patrols and detailed investigative work, Operation Fearless exists to tackle crime in specific communities.

In the last year, its officers have made more than 300 arrests, and carried out more than 500 stop and searches.

Just last week, a man the team arrested over the supply of drugs in Southside was sentenced to more than four years in prison.
