A murder investigation has started after a man was fatally stabbed in Acocks Green.
We were called by ambulance colleagues to an address on Olton Boulevard East shortly before 2pm this afternoon (13 January).
A man was found seriously injured and despite the best efforts of paramedics, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.
The man's family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
Our investigation is at an early stage and officers are working at pace to establish the full circumstances around what happened, speaking to witnesses and reviewing CCTV.
A scene remains in place while forensic examinations are carried out, and local officers are there to offer reassurance to the local community.
We would urge anyone with information about what happened to contact us on 101 or via Live Chat on our website, quoting log 2771 of 13 January.
You can also speak to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
