A man has been jailed after he tried to attack another man with a chainsaw in Olton.

A man was walking his two dogs in woodland near Gospel Lane and Brookvale Road in Olton, on 28 May last year, when one of his dogs was attacked by another dog. This led to a verbal altercation, and Lewis Whitsey, who was nearby, then joined the altercation and went to assault the man whose dog have been attacked.
Whitsey left and then returned with a chainsaw and attempted to attack the man with it. Thankfully, the chainsaw cut out just as he want to attack him, and the man managed to get away from the area.
Our Solihull CID team carried out an investigation and identified Whitsey, and he was arrested days later.
Whitsey, of Gospel Lane, Olton, pleaded guilty to wounding.
The 48-year-old was jailed last Tuesday (20 Jan) for two years and two months.
