We’ve arrested a man on suspicion of trying to steal fuel in Walsall during the early hours of this morning (22 April).
We received a report of a man, with a fuel can, near vehicles on a construction site off Norton Road, Pelsall, at just before 2.30am.
Officers were quickly on the scene and detained a 44-year-old man on nearby Lichfield Road.
He has been arrested on suspicion of theft and is currently in custody for questioning.
We won’t tolerate any type of theft as this always has an impact on people within our community.
We’ll always seek to identify, detain and pursue prosecution action against anybody involved in theft offences.
Our response officers are on duty 24/7 to help in an emergency, keep you safe and detain crime suspects. It's national #ResponsePolicing week and we're shining a light on some of the work they do.
