Off-road bikes seized in successful operation by Chelmsley Wood officers

We are keeping up the pressure on nuisance and illegal off-road bike usage in Solihull.
Officers from the north of the borough carried out a proactive operation which saw a number of arrests made and vehicles sized.
The Chelmsley Wood and Smith's Wood neighbourhood teams, as well as the Project Guardian taskforce, drones, Road Harm and off-road bike teams carried out their operation last weekend.
The operation saw two people arrested: one on suspicion of dangerous driving and causing a public nuisance, and the other on recall to prison.
Over the course of the operation, four off-road bikes and a quadbike were seized by officers.
Inspector Andy Bridgewater said: "We've been hard at work in the north of the borough tackling what we know is a real cause for concern in the community.
"These riders are a nuisance and a risk to public safety.
"We are well on the way to seizing our 100th off-road bike, and we will keep up our operations and patrols to keep the public safe.
"It is vital the public tells us where and when they see dangerous off-road bike usage, as the information we receive helps us build a clearer picture to plan our operations around."
Dangerous and reckless driving of a vehicle in a public space will not be tolerated by West Midlands Police.
Vehicles will be seized and crushed if riders do not follow the law.
Offenders can also be arrested, prosecuted, and given a fine.
