A 47-year-old man from Birmingham will today appear before magistrates charged with terrorism offences.
Mohammed Zahir Khan, from Alum Rock, was arrested on Wednesday by Counter Terrorism Policing officers and charged last night with six offences:
• Between 20 January 2025 and 12 February 2025 supporting a proscribed organisation, namely Hamas
• Between 9 January 2025 and 12 March 2025 failing to comply with a serious crime prevention order by failing to provide information relating to a telephone and use of social media accounts
• Between 2 January 2025 and 12 March 2025 failed to notify police of contact details as part of his licence conditions on three occasions (three counts)
• Between 3 March 2025 and 7 March 2025 failed to notify police of a change of vehicle as part of his licence conditions.
He was remanded to appear at Westminster Magistrates Court today (Friday).
