A man’s been charged with several offences after we were called to reports of someone stealing from a shop in Solihull.
We were called by members of the public to a shop on Stratford Road, Shirley yesterday afternoon (6 February).
One of our officers was assaulted while trying to make an arrest, but thankfully they were not seriously injured.
Nader Abou, aged 26 and from Birmingham, has since been charged with theft from a shop, and assaulting an emergency worker.

We remain committed to identifying persistent shop theft offenders and arresting them.
