An officer has received an award for making a real difference in policing and the wider community.
Pc Grant Fisher wanted to help new recruits settle into life as a police officer so took on a student leader position.

He became a regular support and sounding board for others who valued his approachable manner.
The response officer in Birmingham has also played an important role in helping vulnerable members of the community.
This included him contacting a military charity on behalf of a man he'd encountered and who needed help.
From there, contact was made with a former member of the armed forces who had been through similar experiences.
Grant is also involved with a local youth group - helping young people to develop skills and experiences.
We were proud to make Grant our Student of the Year at our recently held Excellence Awards 2025.
The awards aimed to recognise officers, staff, volunteers and members of the public for their dedication and hard work.
