We've charged a man over the murder of Shara Millar, who was found dead in Smethwick on Monday morning (11 August).
Tanveer Singh was yesterday arrested in connection with the death of 41-year-old Shara.
The 31-year-old, from West Bromwich, has this evening been charged with her murder.
He has been remanded to appear before Wolverhampton Magistrates Court tomorrow (14 August).
Two other men have been released with no further action after being questioned by detectives.
Shara was discovered off Woodburn Road and a forensic post mortem has revealed she died as a result of strangulation.
We believe Shara was killed in the early hours of the morning at the location where her body was discovered.
We are continuing to ask the public for any information surrounding her movements before 1am.
Detective Chief Inspector Alastair Orencas, from our Homicide Unit, said: "This charge is a significant development in our investigation which remains very much ongoing.
"Our focus is on getting justice for Shara and her loved ones, and it's important that anyone with information which could help us comes forward.
"We've been carrying out enquiries in and around Soho Road, Birmingham, where it's understood she was involved in sex work, and we really want to hear from anyone who may have seen Shara on Sunday evening or early Monday morning.”
We've increased patrols in the area where Shara was found, and around Soho Road as reassurance.
