The UK is working with local authorities in India to urgently establish the facts and provide support to those involved.
We're further expanding a team which is using your footage to help trace dangerous drivers and keep the roads of the West Midlands safe.
Our Operation Snap team will be boosted by additional officers and resources so we can act on your sent-in clips to identify reckless motorists.
It follows the growing success of the initiative which saw over 16,200 pieces of footage - captured on dashcam or other recording devices - sent into us by the public last year.
In nearly 85% of cases we were able to take positive action. Motorists found guilty of driving offences faced a range of consequences including instant bans, warning letters, fines, penalty points on their licences and court appearances.
Road safety is a top priority for the force and we're continuing to work with partners to reduce the number of people killed and seriously injured on West Midlands roads.
The expanded Operation Snap team will focus on:
Chief Superintendent Andy Parsons, who heads up the Operation Snap team, said: “The sheer volume of submissions demonstrates the public’s commitment to road safety.
"With increased resources, we can take even more decisive action against dangerous driving, ultimately helping to prevent serious collisions and save lives."
This is happening after the West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner announced a £165,000 investment into the third-party dash cam reporting service.
