Original request
I would like to request the statistics on LGBTQ+ hate crimes reported in Birmingham, please, specifically those reported between March 2021 and March 2026.
I would also like to know where in Birmingham these incidents took place and the nature of these incidents.
Response
We have searched for offences with markers for the hate strands ‘Sexual orientation’ and ‘Transgender’. Some of the offences had both hate strands recorded, which resulted in duplicates being returned for our search. We have removed the duplicate files, of which there were 81, and the data provided below is excluding duplicates.
As you have requested calendar years, I have provided data by calendar year from 01 January 2022 onwards; data for 2026 covers 01 January to 31 March 2026.
