I am requesting data that relates to cases/investigations (that are no longer being pursued by WMP) in FY 21/22 and FY22/23, relating to "procuring an illegal abortion".
For these offences which the police investigated, can WMP confirm if any contained data relating to menstruation tracking apps/period cycle tracking apps?
Can the police also confirm if it was acquired by requesting it from the menstruation tracking app's company?
When referring to menstruation tracking apps/period cycle tracking apps, please consider all applications or digital services that collect, process, or store menstrual cycle, fertility, pregnancy, or reproductive health data. This includes data obtained via digital forensic extraction, third-party platforms, or evidential exhibits, whether or not a direct request was made to the app provider.
Due to system issues, our analysts cannot currently access data prior to January 2022. However, we can confirm that between 01/01/2022 – 31/03/2023, there are no records for the Offence Category ‘PROCURING ILLEGAL ABORTION’. Therefore, no information is held in relation to your request in this period.
