West Midlands Police do not “install” speed cameras this is completed by the local Council for the area. We can only tell you when we started and ended enforcement.
There was only one camera that applied.
We began enforcement in March 2024.
We ceased enforcement in July 2024.
M42 between Junctions 4 & 5 and 5 & 4
It’s a motorway so national speed limit would have applied
50mph
M42 Junction 4 & 5 – 2162 and M42 Junction 5 & 4 – 1176
M42 junction 4 & 5 – highest speed was 124mph and this was passed to court. M42 junction 5 & 4 – highest speed recorded was 118mph and was a police vehicle who applied an exemption.
