Please may I request information relating to illegally modified battery-powered pedal cycles (e-bikes):
Q1.Can you please provide details of the number of illegally modified e-bikes seized by police over the last three years (stats for 2023, 2024 and 2025 so far)
Q2.Can you please identify the highest speed (in mph) the force has ever recorded for a person riding an illegally modified e-bike.
Q3.Can you please provide details of where/when (on which road) the highest speed was recorded
Q4.The age of the rider who recorded the highest speed

Below is the number of E bikes seized. We do not hold the information in a central location regarding if they were illegally modified.
2023 is was 30
2024 it was 54
2025 so far is 80 (as at 25/9/2025)
