1) Did you run a specific drink or drug driving campaign last Christmas (December 2024).
2) If you did run an operation can you tell me of the vehicles stopped, how many arrests that led to and how many people were charged as a result.
3) Can you tell me the total number of drink/drug driving charges the force achieved during December 2024 up to and including the 1st of January.
4) Can you also provide me the figures for the previous year at the same time to compare the figures.
5) Could you also tell me how many crashes during December 2024 up to and including the 1st of January were as a result of drink driving, or involved a driver providing a positive breath test?

See as follows and please note - We do not record the number of vehicles stopped across the force during campaigns. Instead, our data is derived from custody figures. Therefore, the responses to questions 2 and 3 will be the same.

Our collision reporting system shows there were 26 injury road traffic collisions where drugs or alcohol were noted as a contributing factor in this time period.
