Red X motorway offences (FOI Ref 202A 25)

Request 

I would like to be provided with, for each of the calendar years 2022, 2023 and 2024:

The total number of recorded 'red X' motorway offences. This is where motorists ignore red X motorway gantry signs when lanes are closed due to incidents etc.

Offence codes recorded below are:

• RT88973 – Drive on motorway, fail to comply with red/green/lane closure signals – manual detection
• RT88974 – Drive on motorway, fail to comply with red/green/lane closure signals – automatic equipment

Note: The figures below relate to matters where ONE offence occurred at the time.  If two offences were recorded at the same time, then these are not included (e.g. Red X and no insurance, or Red X and non-complying VRM etc etc).
