The recorded crime offences with outcomes figures will differ to the arrest figures. This is because in order to deal with an offence a Police Officer may invite the suspect in for a voluntary interview and the person can be dealt with that way – the outcome and subsequent court hearing (if any) is the same. Therefore, not all suspects are “arrested”.
