I am seeking data on road traffic collisions (RTCs) involving motorcycles and the number of motorcyclist fatalities resulting from these RTCs in your area. If this information is available elsewhere, please direct me to where I may find it.
Specifically, I would like to request the following information as individual requests:
- The total number of RTCs involving motorcycles in your police force area for the past five years.
- The total number of motorcyclist fatalities resulting from RTCs in your police force area for the past five years.
- The total number of RTCs for your police force area for the past five years.
- The number of serious injuries sustained by motorcyclists in RTCs for your police force area for the past five years.
- Any available data on the time of day, day of the week, and location (urban/rural) of these RTCs involving motorcycles.
We clarified with you on 9th Jan 2025 and you responded on 13th Jan 2025.

Please present data per calendar year please – 01 January – 31 December in the years 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024
- The total number of RTCs involving motorcycles in your police force area for the past five years.
- The total number of motorcyclist fatalities resulting from RTCs in your police force area for the past five years.
- The total number of RTCs for your police force area for the past five years.
- The number of serious injuries sustained by motorcyclists in RTCs for your police force area for the past five years.

Please note that damage only accidents that are no further actioned are not included in this data as these types of accident are not recorded on our systems. We only record accidents which have an element of injury and damage only that we have investigated.
The data also is set to all motorcycles, this will therefore also include electric ones.
